Moray confirmed focus in flooding inquiry

Itís been confirmed that Moray is to focus in the major flood inquiry being carried out by the Scottish parliament.

MSP Peter Peacock, who has been calling for the inquiry team to hear from local peopleís experience and expertise is delighted that an evidence session is to be held in Elgin in February.

There will be an opportunity for local people and agencies, like Moray Council, to give information.

"It is highly relevant that the inquiry should hear from the people of Moray.

They have experienced some of the worst cases of flooding in Scotland and there are already many examples of excellent research into measures to deal with the causes and effects of flooding.

"I am sure their experiences and comments will be invaluable," said Mr Peacock.
